End of Year Reflection

e-Comm this year would have to be the best so far. We went very in depth this year in the two classes we chose to take. I learned a lot and my quality of work increased dramatically. I feel like I can use all the programs with confidence and also be able to help people with the program. Over the year people needed help but I needed help and I am grateful for the people who helped me as well.

Technology:
In Animation, we learned how to use new and better programs to make our projects look more professional. I had no idea how to use Maya or After Effects but Mr. Netterville taught me how to use them. I could make improvements to previous work but also be able to make more professional looking projects. My greatest strength/improvement would be working with the new programs I could use the to their full capability. My weakness would be After Effects. I still have a lot of things to learn in that program and I still can improve my skills in that program.

Collaboration:
I believe my collaboration skills have greatly improved. I am an introvert and talking is not my greatest strength but throughout the year I was able to express my ideas and help others out. Once I figured out that my ideas could help people, I helped them left and right. I even needed peoples' ideas to make my work better. Their ideas always helped and never made my work bad. One thing I improved was collaboration. I honestly was not a good talker but I was able to gain strength and the courage to help people with my ideas.

Communication:
As I said in the previous paragraph: I am an introvert. Communication wasn't my strength but after I got comfortable with the people I worked with it got easier to help others out. I also needed to get their contact information so we could make sure everyone was on task and was doing their part of the project. My greatest strength would be being able to help people through articulating my ideas. My weakness would be not being able to talk to people in the beginning of the year because I wasn't sure on how they would react to my ideas.

Project Management:
At the beginning of the year, I wasn't turning in my work on time because I wanted my projects to be the best that they could be. I went over the deadline and I never got to show my awesome work. Now I have learned how to make projects well and on time. One strength I have is making projects well but the weakness would be not turning it in on time. Now I make schedules to ensure I make my projects on time.

Leadership:
Like I said in the previous paragraph; I helped people out and they repaid me with their knowledge when I needed it. I showed my leadership skills during our final project when we had conflicts with ideas and I needed to step in and turn down the heat. My greatest weakness is that I could not lead before. I just stood there and did what I was told. My greatest strength would be helping other people. I never used to do this but now I have the knowledge to help people with their projects and make them better.

In conclusion, the year in e-Comm has been very successful and I have improved as a person in so many was because of this program. It has helped my become a leader, not a follower; a creative collaborator, a strong communicator, and even learned how to use programs I have never laid my eyes on.

During this final year of e-Communication I was able to grow as a person, friends, and member of society. The works that I have completed have allowed me to met new people in my community and created deeper friendships. There was a sense of family when I was in ninth grade, this is still true 3 years later. I learned to complete projects on time and how to create videos efficiently in order to turn the projects in. Also I learned to work with people that did not really want to be in the program. The difficulty these kinds of people can bring are astronomical. This is the over the shoulder shot from our video. ONW Planner Procedure The scope of the project was to capture the various procedures in the planner and my partner and I chose to do the video about how to use the planner properly. Our process was to get notes from the client and see what the client wanted to be in their video. Then from those notes we came up with ideas and wrote them down. After we wrote down our ideas we grabbed a storyboard and came up with a few ideas for shots then fine tuned them. This was a medium shot to capture the teacher signing the planner.  For the shooting we followed the storyboard almost exactly and we remembered the 6-shot system and the 180* rule. The six shot system consists of six shots (duh) and they are Extreme-wide, Wide, Medium, Over the shoulder, Close-up, and Extreme close-up. Insomnia PSA

.Insomnia. This project was a fun one to make. Though it was made in just a few hours, Jordan and I created a pretty good looking project. I feel like I slaked off in this project given the amount of time we were given. I kept putting this project off due to work, school and the feature film I am currently working on, but this does not excuse the utter slack of work I put into this. We filmed and directed this in 25 minutes and I edited all footage and sound in around 45 minutes to an hour. This concept was a different one that was chosen at first. We decided that this concept would be easier to produce. While this was short, this is the most editing I have done for a film, ever. It was very complicated with the light-leaks and the transitions that I used. The audio was the hardest thing that I had to edit.
