End of Year Reflection

Image
e-Comm this year would have to be the best so far. We went very in depth this year in the two classes we chose to take. I learned a lot and my quality of work increased dramatically. I feel like I can use all the programs with confidence and also be able to help people with the program. Over the year people needed help but I needed help and I am grateful for the people who helped me as well. Technology: In Animation, we learned how to use new and better programs to make our projects look more professional. I had no idea how to use Maya or After Effects but Mr. Netterville taught me how to use them. I could make improvements to previous work but also be able to make more professional looking projects. My greatest strength/improvement would be working with the new programs I could use the to their full capability. My weakness would be After Effects. I still have a lot of things to learn in that program and I still can improve my skills in that program. Collaboration: I believe m...

Professional Article Review

http://www.animatorisland.com/why-2d-animation-should-be-abandoned-part-1/ This article describes why 2-D animation is not needed anymore. The authors argument of this article is that 2-D animation is not needed and 3-D animation is easier, computers are better at making detail than humans, and computers can make more complex figures and more complex shapes. The authors uses other animators such as, Tom Bancroft, to get a more professional view on the topic. The article's strengths are that she used multiple sources as evidence and she used pictures from known animated movie to explain each of the topics. The weakness is that it only had 3 points of why 2-D should be abandoned. The author could have added more details with further research. The author's general conclusion was that computers are starting to take over the animating world but the human still needs to be in control to make the animation good. The author's argument certainly goes along with the main points...

Professional Project

Image
I love this project. This has a meaning. It is to enjoy what you love doing and don't just go with what everyone else is doing. This is also a good animation because it uses the beat of a clock (hence the title) to keep the rhythm and the story. The different shots are going with the beat as well making it a satisfying video to watch. The style of this animation is very simple but it get the point through to the audience. All you need is a story to be able to make something people like watching. Along the beat they also make the video more intense with the drummer. This also show that you ave to do what your heart tells you to don't go with the flow, be unique.

Animation Final

This animation final included everything we learned in animation so far. We had multiple people work on multiple areas of the video. I was in charge of the green screen portion. I needed to key out the green screen and make it look like they were actually in the video. We had to much light on the green screen and it created hot spots on the actors and on the video. I tried my best to bring the contrast and brightness down enough to make it look decent. They still look very bright but it was the best I could do. Thing we could have done better is making it look like she actually pushed the button. And also improve the voice acting (provided by yours truly).
